KESC SIXTH POWER PROJECT
CONTRACT NO. KESC/1314-1315/6678/2-OVERHEAD LINES
All transmission lines under above project have been completed except two lines which will be completed by end December 2002.
Installation of OPGW was not carried out due to non availability of testing and splicing facilities which has now been arranged. OPGW installation will be completed by end March 2003.
CONTRACT NO. PMHA-032
CONSTRUCTION OF ‘B’ TYPE APPARTMENTS
NEAR WALTON ROAD LAHORE
The main work on above project has been completed on 31-10-2002. The finishing work is in progress. We have already applied for issuance of taking over certificate for the work completed up to 31-10-2002.
SUPPLY AND CONSTRUCTION OF 220KV TRANSMISSION LINES
FINANCED BY JBIC PACKAGE 2-(REVISED)
The job consists of three 220kV lines viz.
1. 220kV Rewat-Islamabad T/Line (48 KM)
2. 220kV Shahi bagh-Peshawar T/Line (38 KM)
3. 220kV Barotha-Nowshera-Shahibagh T/Line (90 KM)
- Orders for all material has been placed.
- Route alignment survey of line 1 & 2 has been submitted to Nespak for approval.
- Foundation work on Line-1 will be started in February 2003.
CONSTRUCTION OF TRANSMISSION LINE FOR IN & OUT ARRANGEMENT
IN TARBELA-GATTI 500KV CIRCUIT 1 & 2 AT BAROTHA
The above project is almost 100% complete except erection of 4 Nos. towers and connection to circuit 1 & 2. Shutdown for connection of existing circuit 2 has been approved for 10 days starting from 11-12-2002.
REPLACEMENT OF INSULATOR STRINGS
220KV BQTPS TO PIPRI WEST D/C LINE
Total line length of this project is 7.5 KM. The work is in progress and will be completed by mid December 2002.
PROJECTS FOR WHICH BIDS SUBMITTED
Contract of Rewat-Ghakhar Lahore 500kV Transmission Line
Contract No. 2017-16
Bids were opened on 10-08-2002. The project comprises of two sections.
Section-I Rewat-Mandi Bahauddin
Section-II Mandi Bahauddin-Ghakhar Lahore
The following four bidders participated.
i. ICC (Pvt) Limited Lahore.
ii. Nazir & Co. (Pvt) Ltd. Lahore.
iii. Greaves Pakistan Ltd. Lahore.
iv. M.R. Electric Concern Lahore.
ICC stands third in Section-I and fourth in Section-II. The job is being awarded to M.R. Electric Concern for Section-I and Greaves Pakistan for Section-II due to relaxation of qualification criteria by Wapda authority.
Construction of Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage System & Road Work
i. B1-Type, Nisar Town, Raiwand Road Lahore, Contract No. 201
ii. C&D-type at Wheatman Road Lahore, Contract No. 203
iii. B-Type, Walton Road Lahore, Contract No. 232
The bids for above lots were opened on 05-11-2002. ICC submitted covered bids for i & ii and were placed 2nd lowest for iii. PHA offered ICC to get the job under item (iii) if price is reduced to the level of lowest bidder (NCC). As the price gap of ICC and lowest bidder is enormous, ICC declined to meet the lowest offered price.
500/220kV HUBCO KESC Interconnection
The job comprises of 500kV and 220kV transmission line and 500kV/220kV switching station for that joint venture was made between ICC, ABB and Saudi Cable. ABB will be responsible for supply of substation equipment, whereas ICC will supply and construct transmission line/substation. Saudi Cable will arrange financing of the project from IDB. Financial/Technical offer was submitted to WAPDA on 07-09-2002, which is under evaluation.
